Exporters whether manufacturers or merchant exports have a lot of cost saving opportunities under the FTP. This could be for themselves under DEPB, Drawback, promotional measures, or with supporting manufacturers under Duty Exemption Schemes, EPCG etc.
Importers who don't want to take any exports obligations can also benefit under DEBP, DFIA schemes, where they can hope to achieve some cost reductions in their procurement costs. Capital goods importers should always think of EPCG, if they have any plans to exports in future by themselves or by third parties or group companies. |
